Cruise - Nov 2 Kavala & Philippi

Our cruise shipped docked at Kavala which was known as Neapolis in the bible (Acts 16:11). From there we went to the ancient ruins of Philippi. We went on from there to a place called Lydia which is on the river a short distance from Philippi. The town is named after Lydia whom Paul baptized in the river in Acts 16:13-15. After a meaningful communion service at the site of her baptism, Hans had a devotional from Acts 16:16-40 at another spot near there as he was not allowed to preach (guide) in Philippi. We then went back to Philippi and explored the ruins there and saw the place where Paul was flogged (Acts 16:22-23). There was a spot that is labeled as Paul's prison, but Hans, out guide, says that it is not likely the actual prison as it was quite small and was actually a water cistern. We then went back to Kavala on the bus to our ship and got ready to sail for Istanbul.
