Italy - Day 5 Venice - Lake Garda - Montecatini

Today we left Venice to make our way to Montecatini where we stayed for two nights. On the way we stopped at Lake Garda at a small resort village guarded by an ancient castle. After a brief stop for Gelatto and photos we then went to Florence for a guided walking tour and exploring on our own. After Florence we went on to Montecatini where we stayed for two nights.

Castle at entrance to Lake Garda

Building covered with beautiful  flowers. The most beautiful one is at the bottom!

My Ferarri got away from me.

Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence. Needed to take a panoramic shot to get it all in.

The baptistry for above. Many of the great cathedrals in Italy had a baptistry before the entrance to the church as you couldn't go into the church unless you were baptized. These baptisries are huge and ornate.
